If it comes to 'Martabak Manis' or 'terang bulan' as Makassar people call it, the only varian for me is topping cheese. De knows this very well. Sometimes I think she is a little bit annoyed that everybody should agree with my choice.
To be honest, I don't find anything special for this particular Bangka Terang Bulan. It tasted just like any terang bulan I had in Makassar. But no regrets...
This is just another experiment, to answer how if I need to tell the world
where I am. That bit of information would definitely be posted from my handphone and it would supposed to be logged at Blogger as well as FB.
So what I need was to send my current coordinate to my blog and then let my friends know about it.
I use two android applications to accomplish this, Google Maps and Blogger (They are both free at Google Playstore, go check them out). All I need is to hold a point in the map, and share to blogger. And thanks to ifttt (refer to
previous post), it would also post a link in my FB timeline for interested friends to check out.
Again, I love shortcut like this, to simplify things, to kill two birds with a stone. The only drawback is when somebody start to change his APIs, and others failed to update theirs. Those services would then fail to “talk” to each other. Somebody will then offers another workaround, and we all would be starting setting them up all over again…. he..he…he… But I couldn’t really complain.

Tips
Took me a while to realize that the sync I set before between my accounts on Blogger and FB doesn't work any more.
So after some googling, another service called
ifttt answers my quest. Now I only need to publish once via
live writer on my laptop or
blogger on the phone. It would be posted on blogger and automagically create corresponding link on
my FB timeline.
I love this kind of thing..... Shortcuts.

Never expected that I would experience most of Ramadan days without my family. This is not the first time actually. But this time, it feels even harder for me. Back in 2005, there was only De… Now, more people to miss, De and the kids.
But the bright side is, the distance is a lot closer now than UPG-MEL. It takes only about an hour to fly BPN-UPG. The only thing to consider is the ticket fare. ‘Cos even for the so called low-cost carrier, seems to be not that low for me ;-). Especially around peak seasons.
For the moment, my schedule is to go home every two weeks. And in between, well….I should content with their voices over the phone. Since my arrival about a month ago, I have two round trip BPN-UPG, and at least fifteen minutes call, almost every day. It’s worth it. Every minute and every rupiah, if you ask me….
However, this circumstances teaches me to value the moment with them even more. Things that we usually take for granted suddenly become a luxury, when they are scarce.
For the same reason, I should value every minutes in this holy month more than any moment outside Ramadan. We’ve been told this since we were kids, so that most of the time, it is heard just like another cliche.
However, some experiences, like living separated from your loved ones, would give meaning to those words. And would certainly leave deep impression in your heart and soul.
… I love you De, Div, Qil, Qi………..
